  11. Name your blog post: Week 5 – Artist – Kara Walker & Russell Crotty
Kara Walker - The pieces of work she has have nothing in common with one another except for the message. Her work explores race, gender, sexuality, and violence through forms such as drawings, paintings, text, shadow puppetry, film, and so on. No, her work is not just "drawings" I would consider what I drew as "drawings" as it chose attempt but here work consists of a message and emotions that I could not show. Her work is showing what we see in today's generations and the problems that are consistently ignored. She's making sure that light is shown on those types of issues. Her work helps emphasize certain ideas such as the ones where the work gets bigger and bigger as you move along but some of her work does take away from the messages. Her work shows the struggles that many ignore and consider a part of life, but it is very relatable as many people deal with them on a daily basis. Personally, some of her work is very relatable and I would never have considered showing it in that way.

Russell Crotty - His work looks like planets and nothing else from my perspective. His work is technical "drawings" because they all look so similar and I really don't sense any emotions. Astronomy, landscape, mapping, surfing, coastal studies, and an unusual commentary on the natural and manufactured worlds are all part of his work. Well since he is talking about planets and stuff like that it makes his artwork since he has a basic outline for all his projects. Honesty his work means nothing to mean because it's nothing I'm interested in and it doesn't catch the audience's eyes.
